Christmas

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Our day started out with the kids opening their gifts from Santa. Then everyone came over for omelets. It is our tradition to have omelets for breakfast on Christmas morning. Then we opened our presents to each other. For the past several years we have invited my parents to our house on Christmas morning. We all really enjoy their company and hope they will continue this tradition with us. Later in the afternoon we went to Tony's mom and dads and to Shantel's apartment. She had it decorated so cute. She won a 25.00 gift certificate to Walmart for having the best decorated patio in her apartment complex. On our way to Shantel's we passed a homeless guy walking in the dark and in the cold rain. It looked like he had all of his belongings in a big backpack on his back and in plastic grocery bags that he was carrying. He had to have been soaking wet. We felt bad for anyone to have to spend his Christmas like this and decided we should offer him a ride to somewhere warm and out of the cold. So Tony turned the car around and asked him if we could give him a ride. He declined and said he was going to the Harts Truck Stop across the street. As we drove away we were very thankful for the warm car we were in. And the warm house we were going home to. The next day we went to Tyson and Amandas and Grandma and Grandpa Nash's. It was fun to see what they all got for Christmas. For a couple of weeks before Christmas we have been reading Christmas stories. It really helped us get in the right spirit for Christmas and to remember what it is really about. I love the holidays and wish they would last a little longer. I love spending them with my family that I love so much. We hope you all had a nice Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve

We had a fun time on Christmas Eve. First we had a yummy ham dinner with cheesy potatoes, a relish tray, rolls, and Amandas yummy fruit salad. Shantel made the best chocolate cream dessert. Then we played bingo and won some fun prizes. We all wore funny or ugly Christmas sweaters and voted on which one was the best. Tyson and Aleena tied. She let Tyson have the prize since it was candy and she can't eat sugar or yeast. They were all very creative and I think this will be a new tradition. All the kids got to open one present. Which, of course, was pajama pants. After the party everyone wanted to watch some old home videos. They are pretty entertaining.
We really missed Tiffany and her family. They weren't able to come down for Christmas this year.
